intro

Hi the people that write the blogs are Jeff Rupprecht and Mark Taylor. We developed this website (with the help of my friend Jon Scott and Jeff Taylor) because we have always had a passion for sports, so we thought it would be a sweet idea to write them down. We know all of you out there are not going to agree with what we say, so we welcome you to express your opinions(whether they may be positive or negative) freely. Hope you enjoy the site! We are also on Duquesne's radio station every Monday from 12-1. So if you don't like to read our posts, you can listen to use. Just visit WDSR.org

The New Decade, Sports News, and Week 17 Picks

Good afternoon to the World and 2010.

A new decade is upon us and here are some things that I am wondering about.

Who will be the next athlete of the decade? Will it be LeBron? Sidney Crosby? Albert Pujols?

Who will win more World Series, the Red Sox or the Yankees?

Will Alex Rodriguez break Barry Bonds Home Run record? (I still consider it Hank Aaron's record though.)

Will the Pirates finally have a winning season, will they make the playoffs, how long will Andrew McCutchen be around for?

For the Steelers, we won two Super Bowls this past decade, so how many will we win in this next one? Will Ben Roethlisberger retire as a Steeler?

For our beloved Penguins, will we see Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby wearing Penguin jerseys for the next decade or will they be like Jagr, traded?

Will the Duquesne Dukes make it to the Big Dance? Will two decades worth of misery finally be over?

Will the Pitt Panthers and Jamie Dixon be able to make it to the Final Four? And will Wanny be able to take his football team to a National Championship?

Will Pitt make the jump to the Big 10? Will the Big East collapse?

And finally, will Tiger make a comeback? Will he break the record?

This next decade will be very excited for the sports world, which records will be broken, what sports teams will fold, which sports teams will be created?

Week 17 Picks

As the final week of the season is upon us, Mark and I are going toe to toe to be claimed as the champion of Sunday Picks! With 16 games remaining, I am up 3 games over Mark. I have a combined record of 102-42 and Mark trails with a record of 99-45.

Colts at Bills.

Even if the Colts rest their starters, I believe the Colts will win. The Colts need to get a little MOJO before the playoffs arrive and I think today they find it.

Jaguars at Browns

Browns. Am I trying to give Mark the championship???? "I've got a feeling, oooh ooooh, tonight is going to be a good night." I just have a hunch that the Brownies will win.

Bears at Lions

This game is going to be so boring, I think there might have actually been more fans at the Little Caeser's Bowl than there will be today at Ford Field. Bears Win.

49ers at Rams

49ers and Michael Crabtree take it to the Rams today.

Steelers at Dolphins

We have to make the playoffs, so we win! Today will not be the last game for Casey Hampton, Ryan Clark, Willie Parker and Jeff Reed.

Giants at Vikings

Paging Adrian Peterson and Brett Favre, you need to end this losing streak. I believe the Vikings will have a field day over this pathetic Giants defense.

Falcons at Bucs

Matt Ryan and Tony G go into the offseason with a win and looking to make the playoffs next season.

Saints at Panthers

This is a tough game, the Saints are struggling and the Panthers have won two big games in a row, against the Vikings and the Giants. As much as I want to pick the Panthers, I believe the Saints will win.

Patriots at Texans

Texans will finish the season above 500 and will beat the Patriots. I still believe that this will not hurt the Steelers chances, but congrats to the Texans for their first winning season in franchise history.

Eagles at Cowboys

The Eagles are en fuego. They will go into the Palace and take down Tony Romo.

Chiefs at Broncos

Eh, Broncos.

Ravens at Raiders

Ravens, gross.

Packers at Cardinals

The Packers have been on a roll, and the Cards have struggled at home. As a result, I believe Aaron Rodgers will pick apart that Cardinals secondary.

Redskins at Chargers

East pick, Chargers

Titans at Seahawks

Once again, another easy pick, the Titans. The Seahawks are just awful.

Bengals at Jets

WE NEED THE BENGALS TO WIN!!!! GO BENGALS!!!!!!
